Social Networking Sites that don't matter..

Besides Facebook, MySpace and BEBO, are the other social networking sites are big enough for me to worry about?

    hi-5
    orkut
    etc

    What do you think?
I'm targetting English speaking countries such as USA, Mexico and UK.

I'm pretty sure people around the world mostly use Facebook, and Youth still like using myspace. Input is appreciated.

    Thanks.

All social networks are good and desserve our attention. But, you should use social network correctly if you really want to promote your web site or blog.

Social marketing is a very important concept a webmaster should master; you can have a free course untitled Social Marketing to increase your conversion rate at internet-marketing-notion.blogspot.com

I'm always a bit confused when I hear about using social networks or social media to market your website. I understand using sites like reddit, digg, and stumbleupon. However, how exactly do you use your facebook, myspace or hi5 account to market to a very large audience.

Do you keep annoying your friends and family with little advertisements about your website, begging them to forward these to all their friends and family? I want to learn. Am I missing something? Am I supposed to join groups and then start telling them to visit my site?

I read the article mentioned above, but I'm still not sure how it works.

Twitter is kind of a mix between a social networking site and mirco blogging site so I would def get into twitter.

Twitter is powerful for bringing in traffic, but converting Twitter users to buyers is a whole different story.

You hadn't included twitter on your arsenal. They are the most famous social site for now.

I think MySpace is still big in the US. I think you could try Last.fm, Friendster and Pandora. Having accounts in Twitter and Digg doesn't hurt too.
