Yes, Social Networking is Good way to generate3 Traffic. I'm using almost 10 Social Networking site daily basic and getting good result

 

Propeller, Delicious and Newsvine are also good social bookmarking sites and they are in the top ten list.

 

Social Networking Websites might provide you with traffic, but is it targeted traffic? Lets take stumble and digg for examples - just about all of the traffic those 2 sites send to me site has an 85% - 100% bounce rate. With a bounce rate that high, its not worth messing with.

If your after traffic, then go after targeted traffic. And social networking - social bookmarking sites have a reputation of untargeted - high bounce rate traffic.

don't just rely on social networking sites, there are tons of links where you can put your url on to. There are many underlying factors that you should consider to get the traffic you want. Amount of fans / followers, niche, keywords etc..

 

I think its all ones applicability of how he does things. how he market them and how he can turn up the visitors in to conversions. So if you really need to get traffic from social networking sites, then do add friends as much as possible.

 

Social networking is not the only thing to bring traffic. You can use email marketing, forum posts, submitting posts to article directories etc. From my experience, I can say if your content is useful enough, people will visit no matter if you use social media or not.

Well there has to be a combination of different strategies to generate traffic - especially for reaching target audience.

 

there are many other social networks and social bookmarks that can bring traffic for websites or and at least they can make valuable backlinks for your site, So dont focus only on a few of them.
