i'm curious how many husbands/wives/signif others/lovers bug you guys for the amount of time you spend on your computer? are they supportive of it, or do they nag you and demand "quality time" ? ;)

any of them help you with your sites?

For me it's more like, why are you NOT at the computer.

I'm not making money wacthing tv in the living room. :p

I was however told that the computer could not go on vacation and it didn't. Believe it or not, I lived through it too.

My wife contributes to our genealogy site. She's does research and can link it on some huge mailing lists. She don't know it's work though. ;)

My wife is just as busy as I am.

So we usually end up spending our evenings in the same room...working!

Why do you ask, newsgirl? Been catching some heat at home for being a geek?

Ugh, I'll have to deal with that for a month this summer. :(

I get a few "comments" every now and again. But, I think my fiance is going to be getting involved in her own right very soon. We just discussed how she could probably be making some money blogging about what she does every day. She is a college counselor.

I did speak to a friend the other day, who spends more time than I do at the helm and he told me that if he did not have kids, his wife would probably have divorced him. Having kids has basically forced him to get off of the computer.

Hahah look at us lot. Geeks-R-us.

No one bugs me about being on the PC. My mam bugs my step dad about being on it so much though, it's funny to watch. She'll come upstairs and see him tapping away and she'll do a womany huff and a hair flicking action and storm downstairs. He is meanwhile oblivious to this little outburst and continues tapping away in harmony. 5 hours later, he comes trotting downstairs and asks whats for dinner and all hell breaks loose. Ah, fun times! :D

Hubby is on the computer as much as I am - although when we're on together, we're usually gaming. He owns 3 computers though, so he doesn't mind my being a geek :)

Start the wee one off slow, Wendy:

    First, an Etch-a-Sketch.

    Then a Blackberry.

    Then a Tablet PC.

    Then a Dell laptop.

    And finally a no-holds-barred overclocked gamer's desktop! :D

My last girlfriend dumped me because I spent too much time on the net. :(

She always said I was wasting my time and I would never earn much... now I work in my pajamas and earn 6 times more than her... oh, sweet revenge... :D

It all comes down to what you are doing onlime. Its a big difference if its just posting in forums than if you are supporting asteady income stream.

I don't have any issues because this is my job.

    LOL! :D

Sigh, the days of virginess...I am not even a computer virgin anymore, since Bill gate's shitty MSN keeps fucking me :( :(

I agree with YFS. It totally depends on what you're doing on the compootah'.

I am definately not going to marry a 'nettie' as my mum calls them. If he spent more time on a computer (even if he was making money) than with me he would be sleeping in the 69 position with my dog on the couch every night. Aiiiii

My 3.5 yr old has her own computer - an old one of mine. She´s got cd games, like Winnie the Pooh, Aladdin and Blues Clues that she loads herself and ... it´s cool. Have to get her a new mouse though. The one she´s got died a death when my 15 month old got a hold of it and threw it down the toilet. Guess he´s not going to be a geek.
