Hehehe I can just imagine your houses to look like small Internet cafes. Everyone on MSN asking what's for dinner or having online fights because typing is the new speaking.

There are 6 computers and 4 TV's here. I just get up and walk around turning them off if they become distracting.

My children are expected to articultate their needs and I will walk away from the screen to give it or I have to admit, it's easy to be rude and get distracted.

    What a world!

Oh man, Noppid. That sounds COLD. :D

My kids articulate their needs too but sod it all, sometimes you´ve got to get away from the computer for game of hide and seek or chases in the garden, haven´t you? Haven´t you??? I mean what´s the point of working for ourselves if we can´t say, stuff it, the sun is out, the kids are doing my head in, let´s pile everybody out for the day.

My gf doesn't like the time I am on the Comp at home. Since I am at work all day and then on the computer for 2 hours at least every night she gets alittle annoyed.

My fiancee is supportive of me trying to get into the web-development-SEO bussiness, she's also going to help me with content as soon as semester is over and she wants to do a science website ( need to figure out how to make money from that one effectively).

But if a pair of socks get trown at me its time to shut down the pc!!, it's the signal she have developed.

Maybe you misunderstood. That was refering to communication skills only.

We play. I have the bruises and sore bones to prove it. :)

Maybe you missed the part where I do volunteer work with the "kids" at school?

    Hi Noppid,

Yes, I was only pulling your leg. What you said just reminded me of an old boss who used to say things like: employee complaints are to be articulated at the appropriate level.

There were only 12 people in the company!

You are lucky you just get socks thrown at you. I usually get heavier objects like tennis balls, books, frying pans....:)

My wifey curls up on the couch in our 'office/greatroom' and snoozes from 10PM to 3AM when I carry her into the bedroom to finish off her nights rest.

Its our little way of being togather - I seranade her into a peaceful slumber with the clickity clackity of my typing/mouse clicking.

When she is working in her 'office' (a second desk less than 12 feet away) and I'm feeling particularly romantically emotive I have been known to IM her a bouquet of roses (MSN IM). I know, I know - I'm a real 'Romeo'

My kids (5 & 3) IM me at work all the time - mostly with emoticons although my 5 year old daughter has recently taken to sending me "I LOVE DADY" 3-4 times an hour

Most nights you can find Me working on a website (or SEO reports for work), my wife browsing the net for homeschooling and free desktop junk to frag her PC, and my daughter learning away on one of her educational programs (ABC's and Microsoft paint are out - we're on to fill in the blanks, and basic math)

My 3 year old son has his website he likes (www.starfall.com) and when he can find an unoccupied computer he finds the ABC's and starts going through them....A G A I N!

I'm a total geek and obviously I have infected my entire family with this malody - with the exception of my 3 month old son who we hope will be a technophobe.

No, it makes you a blind optimist. Once the labor gets going, trust me -- you aren't going to be thinking a whole lot about Diablo or computers...
