Something Wrong Here?

Is there something wrong with my ad placement, or is it that I only get 400 impressions a day? Because I've made nothing the past few days.

    These were my initial thoughts:

The second the page loaded, I completely skipped the header, which includes the ads, and jumped right to the content. Everyone swears by the leaderboard, but I instantly recognize it as an ad and quickly move on.

I would remove the leaderboard and add a banner directly under the directory that matched the color scheme. But be sure as to not disguise the unit as another section in your directory. There has to be a clear difference between ads and content.

I would also throw a 5-count link unit on the left hand side of the page that will fit in nicely with the layout. Directly above the recommended websites should yield decent results. Be sure to label it as Sponsored Ads or Advertisement.

Under the directory, at the bottom? And do you mean a picture banner, or a banner of text ads?

Thanks for the tips though, I'll try them both.

Directly under the directory, after Entertainment and Society catagories, I'd center an ad right there that followed the color scheme as above. BY banner, I was referring to the 468x60 text ad. I believe Google has it labelled as a banner. But I'd keep it strictly text.

    Alright I'll change that now.

And I don't know if it's not working now, but earlier I tried to put the link ads up on the left hand side, and I chose a normal vertical link ad, and it kept coming up as a horizontal leaderboard that stretched across the whole page. Weird.

I would place a link unit, not the ad boxes down the left hand side. It'll flow better with your page and not stand out as much as an ad will.

i would think that puting images next to each ad to make it look like the featured and regular links would greatly improve ctr
