Buying Spanish Translation of English Articles

Discussion in 'Content Creation' started by xanth, Apr 15, 2013.

I have a good number of English articles I would like translated by a native Spanish speaker. I understand Spanish reasonably well but don't have the time and prefer someone who is better equipped at making sure that reasonably good grammar and moderately professional writing style is used. Please provide me with all relevant background and other information as to why you'd be good for the job as well as your rate. Thank you.

I am *not* a natural speaker of Spanish but have done many Spanish translations. I can provide references, I charge 14 cents per word and all work is gauranteed. You can PM me for more details.

No it doesn't, the translations come out robotic and laughable and everyone sees them for what they are. For business or literary purposes Google is useless.

    1. Software translations are excellent for personal use when nothing else is available. It is not suitable for presenting on your own website.

    2. The value of translation is what the market dictates. If you are insisting that you can get $70 for a general 500 word article with no special requirements, kudos to you. In addition to the translation being "guaranteed" (not sure what that means), I'm hoping it comes with dinner. :)

Gauranteed means if there are any issues I will rewrite or even offer discount or refund. My translation services come with original content (if needed) as I am a writer. So can help you compose articles, or whatever you need.
I do not take on any projects that pay less than $70 U.S.

So you're admittedly not a "natural" speaker (whatever that means) - but you promise to provide a guarantee to fix "issues" with your work. And your English grammar and spelling leaves much to be desired as well. I'll pass.

It's remarkably rude that anyone would barge into the thread of another person and publicly insist that quoted prices are too low. The natural conclusion would be that you're not getting the work and somehow think you'll raise the overall prices offered by posting nonsense.

Not barging in merely giving my opinion and offering to do the job at *my* rates not yours. My natural language is French, as to my English I haven't had many complaints at all.

Fixing issues has more to do with accomodating the client than me making any mistakes. Some clients are picky as to prose and the flavor of an article, and prefer me to not flower it up as I am wont to do. Others still like the way I'll spice things up and are repeat clients.....it's all subjective.
Anyway who cares? I'm not getting the job and I've just decided that you are more trouble than you're worth, and I wouldn't work for you anyway.;)

Your entire reply makes it manifestly clear that you're not an English speaker, even though you seem to believe nobody notices the signs.

This thread wasn't about you. For money, I'm sure you "spice it up" for your clients, lol. "spoilt diva" seems like an appropriate screen name. Anyways, time to move on, opinion shared.

Yes time to move on indeed, but I didn't want to leave without saying goodbye. Writing in English doesn't come naturally to me. Yes mistakes do occur but I *always* proofread before submitting when I work. I'm *not* working when I'm on DP, get it?
    Have a nice day Snookums.;)
