Give the Guy a break. He was having a bad day. The Football was on. He does pay a license fee and yet his pub was half empty. Then somebody comes in who is a potential customer and orders a coke and nothing else. He wasn't mad at you in particular he was just pissed off with business and life in general. You simply happened to get the brunt of his frustration.

As fellow entrepreneurs and business people we should be able to relate to his frustration even if we don't approve of his methods. By attacking him as viciously as is being done, or suggested, here would seem to indicate that maybe we are just as big assholes as we accuse him of being.

I disagree with you entirely on this one.

So today tops hangs and drinks two cokes and ties up a stool. What about tomorrow when he just pops in for a premium shot or two and hits the door? This time taking up no stool or TV time. Paying a premium and leaving a nice tip. He'd probably have left a good tip the first time if treated fairly.

How about this, I've been in the bar and had no intention of staying. I had a sprite as I was not ready to drink nor intending to drink for the evening. However after a visit with my friends, I then buy us all a shot as I say good bye and we part company. Nice tab, nice tip.

How would that bar owner feel if he knew he blew a sale when my oder of a sprite was not up to par and he asked me to leave?

 

Well he should have been happy having me there as a paying customer, not kick me out. I don't have to listen to his threats just because he's having trouble filling his pub.

It's his pub and he can do what he want but I am entitled to voicing my opinion. And if Google decides to outrank that opinion over his site then tough shit for him. Treat customers bad = get bad publicity. If he can't handle his job emotionally then he shouldn't be in that business IMO.

I know this method works. I am currently using it for a keyword what puts me right underneath my competitor. I was not interested in his market at all, but a recent event forced me to compete.
