standby problems with XP

I used to have '98 and standby worked absoloutely fine, but i changed my operating system to XP a few months ago, and it also worked fine for the first time i was running it on XP, but after i shut shutdown after installing XP the button became unavailable, and all standby options and everything to do with standby is not where they should be, or anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to enable standby again ? ? ?

It should be there when you go to "Turn Off Computer". Then a window comes up with the options to Stand By or TUrn off. Have you checked this?

This is not necessarily the problem, but I saw this one time and it turned out the mobo was not compatible with xp. Check and see if all your hardware is compatible with XP.

    1. Go into My Computer | Control Panel | Power Options and check your settings

    2. Download TweakXP and install it -- I think there are options in there that may help
