Staying focused

I'm at the stage where i have to make tons of new sites and keep building links for others, it's quite annoying and can't seem to stay focused! I know i need to do it with a ton of other things on my magic list :p but it aint happening. If i had the money to throw at people to do jobs i'd do it but i'm not quite a millionaire so you know :)

What do you do to stay focused?

And any suggestions that don't include locking myself in my room are welcome :D

If you know the story of the tortoise and the hare, you know that the tortoise won the race because he was deliberate while the hare got off to a fast start and fell asleep.

Don't measure your progress by great feats of exertion. Instead, keep moving along a little bit here and a little bit there. Come December 2007, you can look back and be amazed at all that you accomplished. Provided you followed the "lesson of the tortoise."

I'm always fighting this. I sit down at my computer and say to myself, I'll play a quick game of CS before I start, 1 hour later. Ok, now I'll get my music ready, crap, I want to download this music, 30min later. Man it's too late to work on anything now, I'll visit the forums and get a fresh start tomorrow.

I've had luck with scheduling myself certain task every night using my Outlook. I try to do them first, simple tasks that take 5min or so. When I'm done with the tasks, I'm uselly in the mind set and can stay focused for hours. It's that first 15 to 30 mins that I stare at my computer with a blank look. So if you schedule easy and quick tasks to do, you should be all set.

I feel your pain. I'm just about to launch my second site and am not looking forward to all that directory and search engine submitting. The only way I can motivate myself is to imagine the possible dollar signs.

I've got about 15-20 sites, not all SEO'd to fcuk but i have about 3 or 4 im trying to build links for and about 5 i want to develop. There isn't enough time in the day :(

I think i'll have to focus on two to continue working on - when im happy with those move on and develop more etc
