Steps to launching my own product

Okay, for those of you that have launched your own products.
I am looking for some advice, or a outline of sorts to kindof follow to make sure I get stuff done in the right steps.
this is what I have come up with. Suggestions welcome.
    1. write product
    2. get domain and hosting
    3. purchase or build customized script for affiliate management
    4. design site (logos and other images, site content).
    5. reach out to get JV partners for launch
    6. Final touches on product
    7. Create promotional materials for affiliates
    8. Start promoting to build anticipation for launch, and get in a few early bird affiliates (maybe WSO with higher commissions or something a little extraspecial)
    9. Final touches on site and product and test
    10. Launch
I know some of this will over lap. I also thought of doing a WSO at number 2 to help bring in money to fund the other parts. Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

I think you should be testing conversions before bringing affiliates on board.

Where would you fit in the conversion testing at?
Guess I am not sure how I would test conversions unless the site has launched and is being actively promoted.

Make sure that part of your promotional activities include PR (Public Relations.) A well-written news release pitched to the right media outlets can be a fantastic way to get early traction.

Totally Agreed.....because once the product is ready it needs a kind of promotion for its popularity..so in this case classifieds plays a very important role to promote the brand to gain the popularity as well as to drive the traffic

First of all before even starting on product creation it would be great idea to test if it's good product ;) and you have someone who would be interested in buying it.
Not worth wasting time if there will be only few customers.

    Thanks,
    Johnny

Also once you have created your product, provide the product to people that you think will be able to you give you quality feedback so that you can improve your product before you do an official launch.

I am sure people will want it. It is a realistic approach to making money by selling something extra we all have.
And it is a realistic income of $100 per day, $36500 a year, not an outrageous amount like $10000 over night, or some such bull.
That is the only teaser I'll give at this time.

I will buy advertising from others, but I will not trade links. The site itself will be very minimal.

    1. Test the product to see if it's something people will buy BEFORE even creating it.

You don't want to spend months creating a product and spending lots of money on it to find out it was a flop.

Create a basic sales page first and put it up, drive some paid traffic to it, have a buy button on it that isn't actually linked to a payment processor but just leads to a page that says "this product is currently not available" or "sold out" and have that page linked to G Analytics and set as a 'goal'. Each goal will count as a 'sale' and you'll get an idea of whether it will sell and what your conversion rate will be.

If it seems viable the create the product. Saves a lot of time and money.

Being sure and knowing for a fact are two VERY different things. Test it. I'm talking from experience here.

What have you got to loose by testing it? Nothing. But you've got everything to gain.

One way you could test conversions is by sending some paid traffic to it first. At least this way you will know what works or at least what works "best".
