Structuring the Ways of Making Money on the Internet

For the better understanding of the variety of ways, how the internet business can be conducted, it can be grouped, using different criteria:
1. Generation of income:
a) by selling or promoting goods (services) using your website (blog);
b) by displaying ads on your website (blog);
c) by selling links, that will be placed on your website (blog).

2. The Nature of the product, that you are selling or promoting:
a) Tangible products – goods (clothes, electronics, books, etc.)
b) Intangible products – services (hosting, SEO, programs), e-books

Books can be sold in both ways – as tangible or intangible products.

3. Ownership of a Product.
a) The owner of the product is you:
Your responsibilities involve – processing or orders, storage, shipment, dealing with returns, support;
b) You act as an affiliate or intermediary:
You are dealing mainly with advertising another's persons product. Your earnings constitute the difference between the retail price and the price for what you buy the product from the supplier (if you act as a retailer or intermediary) or you get a commission from the producer/publisher for the orders that are made by customers who come from your website (referrals).

4. Who drives the sales of product or service.
a) You promote your product or service using the internet advertisement options (AdWords, SEO, article marketing etc.);
b) Sales are driven by the Affiliates – promotion is outsourced to persons for a share of income.
Both methods can be used in combination.

Personally, I've found Adsense and affiliate marketing to be the best.
