This is about 3 miles or so out from me at this point. Its moving very fast. What you see in the vid is on the other side of 4 lane road so I should be safe. It would have to jump over the road and a river to actually burn my town. Its only going to be about 50 yards away though.

I got front row seats for this one. I will start posting pics soon. I can already see the ridge line burning from a few miles away. Link 2 is how close it is the valley floor. I don't know how the first town is even still there. The wind is keeping it up in the ridge line.

Guess the river and the highway did not save the town since his video is down.

Wow, scary stuff. My understanding is that a wildfire can jump roads, rivers, etc., if the wind is strong enough, which it appears to possibly be in this situation. Good luck and keep us posted, if you can.

I am safe and frankly need to get some work done lol.. Its still burning but its about 1000 feet up the hill. Not sure if this video will work but you can see how close it came to a neighborhood. We have amazing firefighters out here.

Its about 5000 acres and we just got about 200 more fire fighters this morning. I will try to embed some more vids. Its pretty wild stuff watching drop retardant and water all day.

That last one is pretty crazy. You typically do not fly large planes into my valley. They are too big. That guy had to pull up hard.

Glad to hear that you are safe, but 1,000 feet does not sound like a buffer that I would want to turn my back on. Good that they are bringing in more firefighters. How bad is the smoke?

Visibility is probably about 65% breathing the stuff is likely pretty bad news. It may hopefully rain. I am keeping an eye on it. Everyone starts freaking out when the wind starts blowing. I am at 7500 feet elevation. It blows hard. We don't get a gentle breeze lol..

Wow, at 7500 feet, one would think that the reduced oxygen levels would also starve the fire a bit but obviously that is not the case. Keep us posted.
