Yes, it might hurt but how do you know how a 70 year old woman who has never loved anyone feels? I would imagine they could feel really lonely and sad. At least if you have loved and lost and decided it isn't for you then you know what it felt like and you have that experience. Life is about experiences, not about feeling good all the time.
