Stupid Yum gives me a weird error

    Basically, I reinstalled Fedora Core 4, and was following this tutorial to do it. I didn't think my ISP used MPPE so I skipped that step, but found out that I did need it, so i used the yum command 
     yum install kernel-devel

    and it gave the error message

    Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: updates-released

    What's wrong and how do I fix it? I seriously hope it isn't a catch-22 sitaution, where I need the net to download off the net...

    Well, thats about the extent of my linux knowlege :D I run fedora 4 also, makes it easy to be fat dumb and happy :p

    I've got a feeling it's something simple like its not configured correctly. I'll be reinstalling today, so I'll fix it then
