Stupidest Directory submission ever

I was just going through my daily 50 odd submissions and found someone who'd submitted their linkpartner affiliate link DIRECT. They have to be kidding, right?

What's the stupidest directory submission you've seen? :)

Did the link not carry an ID tag like www.domain.com/index.php?UID=12312 ?

That does sound pretty stupid though lol

    PS That's a nice looking directory :)

Over 50 different submissions of sites with the same content to one catogory.

What a joker was that, I banned it's IP adress, it was one of these three: 202.63.117.29, 59.92.0.73, 61.17.116.201

I find the stupid ones are when they try to put all kinds of characters before the listing to try to be first. Those go straight to the bin so it would seem counterproductive.

There is a lot to be said of a clear, well written submission. Even if they make a mistake, I correct it as they showed they respected a listing enough to put a bit of work into it.

I'm getting also a lot of these descriptions: "#1 Cigar & Cigarette" all with #1 at the beginning, all of these pages are directories that seem to come from India.. All straight to the bin!

There is one I finally had to ban that had something like

#1 Shopping company with listings in 43566 categories

A strange enough description but they submitted site after site with only the "Shopping" part and the number changing.

It did have an ID tag - but the thing is it linked straight to the affiliate - like, they can't be bothered making an affiliate site (because they're sooo hard to make) so they're just going to spam directories with the direct link(s). :(

    Amen to that brother!

I had about 50 straight sites last night all about marketing/promotional events - like, literally about 50 different domains, all for the same company with more or less the same content. It was crazy - does that kind of strategy actually work? It's a lot of money to spend on domain names!

I hate the submissions to those free role playing games online. You click the link and you get a page that says you've been b*tchslapped or something like that and xxxx has earned $50 pimpbucks or something. Those are the worst.
