Wondering if anyone with subdomains has got them on different blocks to their homepage and if there has been any pay-off for this?

I have http://forums.nesfiles.com/ and http://www.nesfiles.com/ on different servers(and therefore different class C blocks). It's hard to guage pay-off, but I figure a little something is better than nothing. Both sites have been doing nothing but good lately, but I can't tie it to this change...

At least someone else had the same idea, the links between the two is what I'm thinking will help most.

I've thought about it in the past, but might just as well use some .info domains or even better just .com's

    The .info's are free however.

(I'm assuming that cost is the only reason someone would use a subdomain rather than a new address).

Yes (Depending on where you get them).

I have posted about this in the underground forum (It was a while ago that I got the domains so I'm not 100% sure that they are still free).

The closer the pages, the less valuable is the link for G

Can you define 'closer'? From what I understood, PR is based on pages and not domains. If you were to not link two subdomains with each other, they should be independently SEO'd, no?

As far as I know, you are right.

    PR is indapendant of pages...

    Regardless of the domain.
