    Hello All,

After 2 months of development, we will be releasing our recent project soon. As of now, we are dealing with final testing and minor UI and layout issues. The website is a free online classified ads and the prototype is available in http://www.adflakes.com

Before the official release, I would like to ask for some suggestions and recommendations for the placement of our Google Ads. Here are some of the pages:

    1.) Directory/Category List
    http://philippines.adflakes.com/index.php/view+directory/id/2/Real+Estate

    2.) Advertisement Page
    http://philippines.adflakes.com/ind...+sample+advertisement+posted+here+in+ADflakes

    3.) Search Result Page
    http://philippines.adflakes.com/index.php/display+search+results

    4.) Member Home Page
    http://admin.member.adflakes.com/

Suggestions and recommendations for adding, moving or deleting adsense on any of the pages will be highly appreciated. There are other pages within the website but I think the 4 pages above are the most visited pages.

Thank you in advance for all the help ;)

I use the 640 x 800 resolution on my monitor, so there is a lot of horizontal scrolling.
The ad placement looks good. The pages with the arrows and the words "sort ads by" may be on the border regarding Googles TOS. That's the only thing I would fix after a quick glance.
    Nice site.

maryn, first of all, thanks for the feedback. Very nice of you :)

For the resolution, we actually intend to support 1024x768 resolution and up. We might be sacrificing some users with lesser resolutions but that is the best that we can come up with the the amount of information we have to include in our pages. We indirectly supported 800x600 wherein they can view the main part of the page in whole (right column is less than 800).

Regarding the arrows for the Sorting, it was not our intention to use the arrows to point to the ads. The arrows are actually functional for sorting purposes (click the arrow to sort up or down). Actually, I never thought of it until I read your post. Thanks very much for that. I'll be sending an e-mail to Google now asking about that part and have it resolved before we release the project.

    Thanks for the compliments

On number 1 site, I see 8 ads altogether - is this allowed by Google? I am not very clear about this as some ppl say there should only be 3 ads per page.

    hi rod007,

You might be seeing 2 leaderboard Google Adsense with 4 items each... that makes it 8 adword items but only 2 leaderboard Google Adsense ;)

Or I am wrong and we have a bug that we cannot replicate locally

    Hi adflakes,

So do you mean it's the numebr of leaderboards which count and not the ads?

If yes how many leaderboards per page can one have?

Adflakes, you're not wrong about the amount of ads showing. There are just 2 units.
Again, nice design. Pleasing to the eyes.

rodoo7, you can have 3 Leaderboards or any other ad units amounting to 3.

Google Adsense Support has responded quickly to our question. We must move the ads so it must not be below the sorting bar. We will be moving it immediately below the page title so that there will be a button and paging inbe tween the google ads and the sorting bar.

Thanks again for this heads up maryn. Saves us headaches in the future ;)
