I totally agree with you. Marketing was and always will be the big money.

Most of the informational stuff you can by online (tutorials, books, etc.) you can also get it for free. The difference is that then you pay for it you don't need to spend time searching and most of the times you get concentrated information. That is why people are buying informational stuff online. And also it is because of the marketers know how to make them buy it

As for Youtube and video tutorials I think I will go for it. As far as I know you can even get paid by google for each 1k views. I will look into all this youtube matter and I think I will use your offer and PM you later.

Well, talking about free content from users it's like a chicken and the egg problem. If you don't have content most likely you won't have any users and if you don't have any users you won't get any free content from them

Maybe you can tell me where to start learning all this stuff (blogs, books, etc.)? And you are right $70 is not much.

Websites like fiverr to me looks like a shot term solution. You may earn some money from them but you always will need to trade your time for money and the trading ratio will most likely be the same. I'm looking for something which will be hard in the beginning but in the future the time spent and money received ratio will increase. In other word you would get more money while spending less time.

 

Asgeco, I'm going to point you in a different direction. Not that I disagree with affiliate marketing, since I've made a fair amount of money with it in the past. I got out of it because I was tired of chasing the wheel, more than anything else.

I'm also not going to recommend Fiverr, since I long ago figured out that the people who are really making money on Fiverr are the ones who are exploiting the gig posters and selling their work for a 400% markup. Well, Fiverr makes pretty good money too, of course...

You've said 2 things that caught my attention. First, that you are skilled with Drupal, and second that you are looking for something that brings in residual income. So my question is, how are you with themes? If you do a bit of research, the drupal theme market could use some more competition, and a nicely coded theme will sell multiple copies. Work up a dozen themes, set up a shopping cart, give a fantastic theme away for free to draw some attention. Then charge less than what your competition is charging for themes that are better than they create. But, don't sell the themes uniquely. After all, $39 - $59 per theme one time is great, but $15 per theme 10 times is a whole lot better.

The same could be done with plugins, but the market isn't going to be as strong. People area lot more willing to find workarounds to coding issues than they are to deal with an ugly site.

You can use Kentoram's suggestion (which is a great one) along with this idea, and market your work through your Youtube videos.
