I think you've integrated the adsense within the forums really well.

I think this scheme is very good. As far as i see the ads are also related to context. Did you use section targetting?

I am planning to use one. Could you give me the url of that mod? By the way, i did not see any mod installation feature in phpbb forum administration page. Are they installed by copying mod to appropriate directory?

But don't we have too much discussion forum on Internet Development already? :)

Anyway, love the design, love the ads blending. The ads are *not* as intrusive as you thought. I've seen worse.

nice layout,my only question is: you have a forum on scripts codeing ect but you used rentacoder to install some code when there is a very easy mod for this.

do you have some knowledgeable mods for your forum as you may not be able to keep pace with questions and content without them.

I've seen this statement before, but never a reason why. Would you please elaborate?

    Thanks.

The majority of the memberbase are repeat visitors who become ad blind.

It's my experience with ads on my forums that they had better CTR when placed at the bottom of the page, only one ad in between last post and pagenav/reply-button.

I did some testing, first i had it at the very top, didnt work too well, then just after first post, didnt work either and annoyed visitors.

Then i placed them just after last post but above pagenav/reply-button, that worked best.

When visitors click a thread it's because they wanna read it, and just get annoyed by some ad in the middle (after first post!!) interrupting their reading.

Placing the ads at the bottom the visitors have something to look at when they are finished reading the thread, and the ad might be something that matches the topic and catches the visitors interest, and as the visitor is already done reading the thread he might even click it.

Adding in between the posts wasnt too good on my forums, other webmasters have had good experience with placing in between posts, but it is my experience that they annoyed more than worth.

No, not in the footer, and not in the post.

    Here, lemme illustrate...

Even if there isnt a next page nav it will still be above the reply button.

That works best on my forums, of the solutions i tried (mentioned in above post).

I show it to guests and regular members, then i have a donation based premium membership where they dont see ads.

Yes, i put it in a frame, makes it look more like part of the site without violating the AS TOS, and i use colors that match my site for the ads, everything in the ad is black on my site, not using blue text as illustrated above.

And yes, i use a fixed width forum, but it will work with floating too.

(Disclaimer: The above screenshot is a photochop i made in PSP to illustrate)

I think you should move the ad after the 10th post down to after the last post like the way MindBuster has it or even limit the number of posts per page to 10..

I have them done like that on my forums
