I switched to using only on ad, Half Banner (234x60), and my god the results are fantastic. I'm getting up to $1.00 a click. Anyone else have this effect?

How many adds were you showing before? And what was your average click?

Was showing a skyscraper, a 468 X 60 banner, and a 468 X 16 link unit. Now just using the half banner and averaging $1.00 a click. Before was averaging about $0.14 a click.

I've noticed this too on my Diary blog. Now have just a single 238x60 under the first 3 entries per page.

Hmm... now that I think about it, I added some link boxes to my site, and my payout per click has been much less. I think I am going to try this for a couple of days.

Moved to one ad unit this weekend, from 2. So far a 50% increase in cost per click, and no big change in CTR. Will let you know if it persists.

I recenlty added another ad block to my website and the CPC dropped significantly. Since I've removed it, I'm back to where I was before and I'm considering removing another block to see if that has any impact as well.

    I found the same thing

I had two 350 by 250 sqaures next to each other above the fold in the center of the page and earnings were ok

I removed the one 350 by 250 on the right side, and replaced it with a rich media ad and revenues went way up.

Also I started looking at ads on the site and making use of the competitive ad filter and my earning increased approximately 30% per click.

The neat thing about using rich media ads is they are usually images and placed next to your ad...... we all know what effect that has on our earnings :D

When you switched to 1 ad, was the ad on the content part of your site/blog or sidebar? which works better if any differance :p

thats a lot of ads on one page, and they stand out too much. I'd remove all ads currently there and put a borderless black text/black link 468 x 60 banner in the middle of your content, and a 468 x 15 link unit, again, black text etc so its blends in, and place it at the start of each main article text

Can you define what you mean as rich media ads? Meaning are they Google image ads only or some other? Curious as just wanted some clarity so I understand. Thanks a bunch.
