Taking Backups

    I am a webdesigner and provide web hosting also. My sites are mostly wordpress sites

    I need opinion on Taking backups

    1>> Should I take backups of my server using backup wizard only.

    2>> Or should I take backups of wordpress websites using other means also

    3>> Also many a times, websites have huge galleries. Should I keep additional backups of just pictures only?


    Any guidance would be appreciated

    Yes, its better to keep additional backups of pictures and the whole site once in month. Also use backup wizard daily.

    It is a good idea if you use Tools > Export option in your Wordpress dashboard. WordPress will create an XML file for you to save to your computer. And Download the Wordpress theme file also.

    I do both on server and download.
    It's like double insurance.

    Are you able to get shell access? You could try setup rsync to make daily backups to a remote server or just another Cpanel account, saving you time downloading every day.
