They say the world is divided into many groups, ethnicities and races, but in reality, there are just two distinct groups: tea drinkers and coffee drinkers.

which kind you are? tea or coffee?
I always go with coffee! :)

Glad I'm not alone. I'll have a hot choc to be sociable but hardly ever. Usually just so I don't look like a freeloader at cafes.

My wife and I prefer tea in the morning (with sweetener and milk.) My wife will occasionally drink coffee during the day (and even night) but it is a once a week or less type of thing. Me? I cannot stand the taste of coffee. I always say that if it tasted as good as it smelled, I would like coffee. That said, I do not even like coffee flavored ice cream. And coffee-flavored milk is a local favorite here in RI that I also do not like.

It turns out that a large coffee roasting business is located along a highway near me. They seem to roast during evening rush hour (and possibly other times, as well) and in the warm months with your car window down you can smell coffee beans being roasted while driving by at highway speeds. :)

Any tea gives me an unpleasant aftertaste. I have to add creamer and sugar for me to like it. Coffee doesn't do it. I dink it black.

I am a tea person. My brother is devoted to coffee!
I often tell him that coffee is like a date, whereas tea is a marriage!
It takes skill to brew tea. And patience. Skill to know when to add cardomom, when to add Ginger and when to put in basil.
Just how much to stir it and how much to boil.
It takes me ten minutes to get my perfect cuppa. Whereas he is quicky done with his mug!

So, what about iced tea? I like iced tea with sweetener and no milk. Honest Tea in a bottle is a good option for a strong, black iced tea. You can get it sweetened or not. However, I also like iced tea better when it is peach-flavored. For that, I recommend a bottle of Arizona Peach Flavored Iced Tea.

One final note, we drink the most popular tea in England every morning, PG Tips, with sweetener and milk as I mentioned previously. I tried making a pot of it into iced tea (just cooling it in the fridge) and neither my wife nor I liked it at all. For us, we only like PG Tips hot and not iced. Too strong, I suspect.

Strong black coffee with one teaspoon of sugar. Every morning I start off my day with a cup of powerful black coffee while wearing my Motivation Model tinfoil hat. The strong coffee along with the hat, gets me all charged up to chase after the mighty $$$.

@jrbiz iced tea is fine. Same weird aftertaste. Something I found online:

The tannins are actually the astringents which are the plant polyphenolic compounds that cling to the proteins. When we are drinking tea, the tannins find the protein molecules in the saliva, so our mouth turns rough leaving a bitter taste on the tongue.

I suppose some experience this more. Cream and sugar seem to take care of this for me (if I happen to drink hot tea).

I sweeten (and try to flavor) the iced tea, so I probably mask any bitterness the tea may have. I did, for a few days, try to drink my PG Tips tea hot and with no milk (just a little sweetener.) I found that it began to hit my empty stomach a bit hard in the morning. I apparently need the milk to soften the blow to my stomach, as well as to enhance the taste.

BTW, I believe it is those very tannins that may provide some health benefits, though I have not read up on this lately.

Coffee at home, I can not stand stuff like StarBucks. Usually have a shot of Crown Royal in it. Wakes me up and makes me want to get to work.

No tea or coffee I'm afraid, boiled water with a slice of cucumber and some ginger and lemon works for me. Personally, don't like the smell of either tea or coffee but we are all different so why not our taste buds!
