Temporary Internet Files - Everyone Owns Your Work

No File - be it FLASH or Streaming Media such as wav or ram or MP3 is really your own - no matter how much protection you take to hid your HTML code (encryption) or Hide your file directories etc....


Case in Point.


An Acquaintance lost ALL of their files when their Hosting Company Server Caught a virus a simply went permanantly down


The one copy they have saved on a CD - simply could not be found


What was the solution --

Knowing that the files were in the temporary internet folders on the hard drive (from previous visits)

We simply did a Search and find - once in the correct folders - we simply COPIED and PASTED Everything onto a New Folder and FTP everything to a new server

But interestingly enough all the Flash files , all the Streaming Real Media
was also included

Remember - almost everything is cached on Hard Drives - so NO One really has exclusive use of their files

 

Is there anyway to put members on ignore so that you dont see their posts on the recent posts list?

I have this guy on ignore but i still see these posts in the list....?

I think you have some serious psychological problems if you can't be settled by just ignoring someones post. I'm sure Shawn could sort any of your quibbles out though if the price was right
