In the recent wake of the Texas hold em craze, a lot of charity's have really cashed in on it by holding fundraisers. That is a fine and dandy, but when they “hire” someone to raise the money for them, that's where the greed sets in. Don't get me wrong there are some honest fundraisers out there ran by the average Joe, on the weekend for a few extra bucks, that don't really concern me. I'm concerned about the big guys for example, greedy people hosting some monster tournaments advertising on ESPN, luring poker players with big payouts. Very tempting, but after I played in many of the tournaments, I began to see what is going on behind the scenes. After seeing how much money is going to be raised with buy-ins, re-buys and endless qualifying sessions verses payouts, it don't even seem fair. I'm not sure what the maximum “cut” is by a fund raising company, but in high school I worked for a “fund raising company”, and they only saw about 10 percent of the money raised. So I shy away from these events anymore and instead I play in tournaments hosted by people like me, who just like to play, and payback all money going in.

I wish everybody would break their posts into paragraphs, so it wouldn't be so hard to read.
