Pinterest works great for me with hash tags in the pin descriptions.

 

Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and (not really a social network, but a great source of traffic) ProductHunt

 

On my own website i only get traffic from facebook and less than twitter, although facebook goal is to change it and lead us to the ads postings, since the posts do not appear in all of the following

Just dropping my personal favorite to this list.

SNAPCHAT

Reasons why I personally think that snapchat is the premier social network
- reaches people who are tech savy. (Facebook, imo, has a large generation entering with little experience to the internet and causes many to be lost in confusion, fake news lol)
- Allows you to post content without the worry of it sticking around for too long
- Allows you to see right away to see which users view your content and also screenshot it
- Lets user attach links to content that can lure followers outside of snapchat, (this is my biggest complaint of Instagram because you can not clink on any links besides the one given in a bio)
- Has a built-in QR reader which makes it easier to add other users on the app
- The outside ads presented to users are easy to skip. This keeps users on the app longer because they can see the content they wish without being bombarded with ads that are tailored to their specific interests. This means you are not in competition with other marketers who directly pay the social network to boost their content ( Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
- Flexibility. Many great snapchat accounts can utilize content from other social networks by being able to post screen shots, screen recording, and pictures. This shows the popular content from other networks in a very fast and user friendly way that still gains the attention of the user.

 

It all depends on your market. If your market audience favors one platform over another, then you go with the favorite one. Pinterest has a lot of female users. Instagram has a lot of younger people. Facebook seems to be filled with more older folks these days.

 

I agree that the demographics you are targeting are important, and that may play into your choice of social media. Good point.

It really depends on a lot of different factors, you would better try each of them or do a research, so you can understand which one fits better for you specifically.

 

Facebook and Twitter because of its million of users world wide and a good place to establish your brand from the target audience.

 

Facebook and Instagram

 

For me Twitter brings in traffic but it's very short lived. Instagram brings in traffic in smaller increments but for a longer time.

 

Facebook is the biggest and probably the best. If you have money to invest, you can use Facebook ads and sponsored posts. That way, you can drive as many visits as you want. Only sky is the limit.
