    I've read this statement a few days ago on some SEO blog or somewhere else, can't really remember, but this just struck me:

    How does AdSense know which Ad is placed first?
    Their servers get 2 queries for .js.. and then? Does it parse the documents innerHTML to check which Ad is shown "first"?

    Also.. does this mean that the earlier the AdSense code appears in the HTML the more expensive Ads are being shown?

    So.. if this would be the case, we'd all just put our AdSense code somewhere around the <h1> tag and let CSS take care of the rest, right?

    Your thoughts?

    the adsense unit which shows up first in the source is the ad unit with highest paying ads.
