The first term you have ever searched for?

Do you guys remember the first time you have used a search engine?
What was they first term you've ever searched for and what search engine did you use?

Mine was "domain" on http://northernlights.com/ .

 

"porn"

 

Yeah, Im sure i was looking for big boobs or somethimg on zho zzzzzzbot or zsts-zvidgdm

 

haha sadly it was probably porn or something

 

"Matrix" was the first term. [ I only started using internet in mid 2003 ] I spend almost an hr searching for matrix posters that day.

 

Authorware

On AOL back in 93/94 time frame. I've been using Macromedia Authorware since 1990 and was what I was always looking for info on.

 

All the stuff I shouldn't be. Porn was at the top of the list.

One wierd thing was when I searched for Othello (as in the game) and got some Naked Celeb of the day site. That was using webcrawler as I recall...

 

lol I love the honesty in here. I think that after the terms I searched for (maybe 5 domain related ones) I got sidetracked and porn was it, and so was the name of my high school and other stuff. All I really remember is becoming a member of afternic.com and spending 3 years in the domain biz

 

I can't seem to remember anymore. But it maybe porn.

 

I can remember searching for online games, but I only had a 56k modem so of course they sucked, sure enough the searches turned to...

 

I don't remember either but must have been gaming related. It was one Altavista though.

It was back in the days rotten.com was a regular site I visited, can't stomach it anymore now.

I'm sure way back then I was using the AOL keyword function. Can't believe I ever used AOL.

 

33.6 modem and I used AOL.

During registration it said choose a username that you can remember, so I though .. "my two dogs names"

I spent the next month playing about in AOL chat with the username TRISHPEPE and constantly getting IM's from guys who envisaged me running through a field naked with my..well you get the idea, so I created a new username and looked up porn

Then my brother found some AOL lesbian chat room and he spent the whole night in there with my username pretending to be a lesbian and trying to swop pics.

 

Thinking about it again, the first thing I most likely looked for was something like "School Essay" or "test results" or something like that..

I have no recollection of what my first search was for, but I know that my first experience with internet was from an Amiga 2000 using (here I'm guessing) a 1200 or 2400 modem. It seems quite obvious that I exerienced the internet before most previous posters

 

You're not alone. AOL Keyword was my first search experience as well... after that I was hooked on AllTheWeb for search and never thought I'd leave... and then I found Google.

First term ever though was: HTML (Was trying to learn more while doing my first web page in high school)

 

I can't remember what it is exactly but I know it was for a school homework.

 

I believe I was searching for a free email service....I didn't even know about yahoo or hotmail then.
