The hardest part of being in a band..

No it's not getting members of the band.
No it's not figuring out what you'd like to sound like.
No it's not writing your own music.

It's definitely finding a name.

And after a few ideas my band members and I have quickly realized how bad we are at coming up with a name. Here's what we have so far....

Pretty much nothing worth using yet. I always thought this would be the easiest part, but apparently not.

here's how we named my friend's band

hmm..looks like my next band's name will be "Hot Water Mountain" better get my banjo...

 

The name means nothing right now. Go with "Leather Couch" and then go back to writing music. You can always change your name.

 

Take it from ABBA and BEE GEES man. Take your band name from each individual name you have. LOL

By the way, what type of music do you play?

 

I am pretty sure it's a punk band. Only you guy have these creative names that are totally make you say "WTF???"

 

If it's an indie band, don't forget to put "The" at the beginning of the name...

We play all sorts of different stuffs, on of our songs sounds exactly like a song called "We are the Industry" by The Bled. Well not exactly the same you know, but the style is similar

 

Hmm do you want a name that means something, I mean: does it have to make sense?

 

How about (in honor of exaro) "WTF" or "LOL"?

 

"LOL Haters" would work

Well, here in South Africa some of our bands have weird names, like Swine Vomit and Uppity-Upchuck and Saron Gas (who moved to the US and changed their name to Seether)
