The old ball in the mouse trick

You have probably done this before, but I think it is extra funny. I did it to my old boss once and had him for 10 minutes. He asked me if I knew what was wrong with his computer and why the mouse didn't work - and I just said.. not sure - that's really strange, is it plugged in?

Not sure if it was his PA laughing from the next office or the fact that I looked like I was in the shit when he started calling his mate "the computer guy" to come and fix it... but I caved and opened his top drawer and said...

"Maybe it's because someone took the ball out of your mouse and put it in your top drawer for safe keeping."

Lucky for me his PA came out of her room and we both laughed that he didn't blow his stack, and saw the funny side of it.

All he could manage was "Dominic, your an idiot. Go and do something productive."

Dam'it I'm getting old... When I was in school we still had that old copy-machine-thing that you had to turn around by hand to get new copies in blue ink (yeah... that's right one-color)... got that shit all over the place :)
Back then we just put board nails on the teachers chair - if we dared (kids could get spanked legally back then).

Or heres one I did at the office. Take an old mouse ball cut it open and remove the steel ball inside, then filled it back up with glue, so when it dried the ball was really light and pretty much useless. For extra entertainment I put a second one in his drawer that was the same so he swapped the two and still had the problem :D

A little old fashioned, I know, but you can set the background to be a screenshot of the desktop, and put it as a layer on top of the "real" desktop, making their real desktop unavailable, but it sure looks "clickable" :).

I've plugged my computer keyboard into the computer next to me, and my favorite at home is to vnc into the other computers while they are being used by an individual and mess around; open windows; interfere with games; that kind of thing.

Takes em awhile to catch on.

Go into the auto correct options in Microsoft Word, and set it to automatically replace their name (or significant other, bosses name etc) with word of your choosing. Very frustrating when the PC keeps changing their name to nitwit
