For you maybe, but for anyone using your system the consequences could be a lot more serious.. and as you're not mentioning that, someone else has to.

 

rodney88, I tested your glype script (have been closely following the developements). Overall, nice script...but still far from being mainstream or production quality. Keep up the good work.

 

That's why I post in forums and ask for help before launch. As long as answers are constructive, they are well recieved by me =)

Now back to my other question, any tips for proxy beginners? I still don't know if submitting to toplists is a good idea, and if not, how else can I advertise my proxies.

I am currently looking to relaunch my proxy network soon, had a lot of problems recently with the server and everything.

A few questions:
What is the correct hotlinking code? I tried one before it didn't work.
When I ban countries and people from hotlinking will they just get directed to the relevant error page?

 

PHProxy 0.5b has built in hotlink protection and activated by default

You can always put custom 404.shtml file in your public_html to redirect error pages to any page you like (maybe your home page which has adsense )

I know your not allowed to use adsense, but you are adbrite.

so i use adsense on the homepage and adbrite on the frame.

Not at the moment...as we are getting the return for this decision. Almost negligible server load even if many active proxies are on the box...we use php opcode cache too.

Latest phproxy is very feature-rich, stable and is able to login to most sites...

but in many schools servers now are having a new software that defines phproxy urls codes
and blocks all phproxy proxified pages
and for this im using cgiproxy and need a host allow this

I tested it and it seemed to work fine ( i have the entry pop switched to on - pop loads on entry to my proxified pages)

Problem i now have is adversal is only recording about 1/10th of my traffic?

For example i am getting about 2000 uniques / day to one of my proxies (statcounter uniques and adsense impressions) i estimate about 10000 page views, but for the full day adversal only recorded 200?


Is this % normal or have i cocked things up again?

2-3 line
in this way (if you put the codes in a blank pafe)
adversal may check that page and think you are cheating...
so have something on tat page

and about the number of hits on adversal
im having the same problem
maybe that because of pop up blockers
you know almost %60 of visitors are using firefox
and it blocks pop ups

Sure, you can remove the codes. Sorry it didn't worked as expected.

Still, if you liked the idea, you can replace the code on prads2.php with your own ad code.

I will turn the page into a proxy blog, once I have mine on profit. It would be a lie to give tips on how to make a successful proxy if I don't have at least one

 

Just thought i would put my reply up from adversal regarding the small % of pops they recorded (only about 5% of actual page impressions!)

I just installed adversal and when browsing my own proxies (to test them) I see that the ad window opens and closes.

Is this normal?
