Well, its a nice discussion thread for proxy site owners.. I'm also having a question too..

Illegal activities through proxies, will it cause the proxy owner? How to be remain at safer side? What you all do?

Yes, it has started. But it takes some time for the proxy traffic to kick in. They have to get comfortable in the labs and get sick of the blocks before they start messing around with proxies.

I think some hostings have shared SSL but I never used it so I don't know.

 

Legally, proxies can't cause you any problems. However, hosts don't like receiving abuse complaints.

Just got a scary bill from my current host for excessive bandwidth usage! wasn't keeping my eye on the ball - lesson learnt.

Need to find a cheap dedicated server any help please (i know its been asked before)

4TB bandwidth required per month - not bothered about any other spec can be combination of value servers etc

i've googled and come up with dreamhost / dedicated-servers.co.uk / uk2.net
any experience of these?

Help appreciated - budget - small as possible (trying to make some money lol)

Well, you really should be aware that you will need a much powerful server with powerful CPU because proxy sites really need much CPU

With 4TB bandwidth and powerful CPU , you are looking to minimum of 250$/month

Currently i can get 4 value servers for $320 month that would give me the 4TB (4000GB) BANDWIDTH i need but i want to pay a small price etc to make money..lol


Only requirement is cheap cheap cheap 4tb 4tb 4tb a month - 99% uptime

Dont really give a shi*te about the cpu (proxies can run fine on shitty celerons...its the ram man..lol)

As you can probably tell a little drunk....lol

RAM usage is mainly for mysql processes and proxy sites don't use mysql

proxy sites work on CPU mainly - ask any proxy hosting and he will tell you that

This is my situation, i have 3 proxies with traffic of 11000 adsense / analytics uniques per day combined - they run fine on a single server with lots of ram (however my server is restricted with bandwidth) - after phone contact my host recommend the 4 x value servers as the best way to go, i.e to get the bandwidth i need - $320 i think is a bit pricey

Does anybody have a good list of topsites? I've been doing some other marketing, but I'm going to supplement it with some topsites now. Also, I know it takes a while for you traffic to build up, how long did it take some of you till you were getting 1,000 hits a day or more? I'm getting like .7% CTR through adsense, but I think its mainly because I started out getting SumbleUpon traffic. What are some of your page CTRs and average prices per click?

 

Don't look at the uniques - look at page views

The p4 2.4 or 2.8 with 2GB RAM will be fine for about 3 million page views/day (average cost will be 100-130$ with cPanel)

but you will be still looking at serious bandwidth though

and using CGI proxy will make you need more CPU and much much Less bandwidth

Consider multiple configurations and see what works the best for you

If 320$ are high - get dual core processor with 3TB - it will cost 200$ max (65% of your current offer)

 

Hi Mankar, havn't used any topsites, just a little paid advertising,link building & seo and a lot of luck...lol
Page ctr is poor to shit, similar to yours, thats why i need a cheap host...lol

I have some mfa sites that get about 8% ctr but can't get above 1% for these proxies

OK $250 was last suggested by tech e - anyone get any lower...lol

Maybe, but if you can convert the traffic on your proxified pages in addition to your adsense homepage, i think there is still some money in it
