I've got tons of these, worthless traffic, 20k uniques/day.

Has anyone noticed lately that most of the natural traffic (has no referer) is based on Firefox? It's been a week since my natural traffic skyrocketed, almost all of those visitors are using Firefox browser, and to me, it's highly unlikely that those folks are manually typing the url in the address bar.

So, accordingly to this tracks, the only way to get such a huge amount of natural traffic would be through a firefox extension for proxy users, but which one¿?.

 

Is anyone interested in plug ins for the zelune script? Like a no hotlinking, youtube, myspace, file limit size plug in?

 

I have Sneak in for some time and some other. I was getting 180000 to 200000 view a day but Finally my this server went down too today. I changed the name server and Pointed it to dremhost ( proxy not allowed there) tried to embed proxy but that is giving error too. may be they are having heavy load too. I submit a emergency ticket with my currrent host wds. little over hour passed no reply yet.
But am loosing a bunch of good traffic and money. what option do I have?
wait it out ? Get new host? Sell or fwd all my traffic ?

 

Setup a free hosting account with awardspace.com, justfree.com, or any other free host. You can direct your domain to their nameservers and use them as a temporary proxy host.
You can:

• A) Host your proxy on their servers until they figure out and suspend you. (chances are your proxy will be disabled from the start and this plan won't work very well).
• B) Use a proxy form so that when a user enters a URL, the site they're requesting is proxified through someone elses web proxy. This way your loyal visitors don't lose access to a proxy AND your free host doesn't get suspended.

WEll its nice having a .com as i thikn they do better in the long run

Also the template is pretty nice but maybe take off the options thing and ad another adsense block under the url bar

Also just submit to some topsites and maybe post around in teen forums if you have time to get free traffic

If not you could pay to get it in a newsletter or 2 and that should give you some traffic but i dont know how long that lasts

 

To avoid smart pricing, shoot for quality rather than quantity clicks
I'll take 1% ctr that makes equal or a lot more than a 5% ctr any day. Lower clicks == smaller disgruntled advertisers == lower chance to be smart priced. Also you can't compare CTR just by itself. More pageviews usually == less CTR.

And scripts wont cut it for big proxy network. You'll end up using a lot more money to rent servers to cope with your cpu power need than if you have your own web-based proxy server software. Not to mention how easy for someone evil to burn your bandwidth when you run unmodified proxy scripts.
