how much disk space/bandwidth do you think I would need.

Also, do these suggestions that you have/will make allow you to have multiple proxies running on it etc.

also, what are specs that are a "must"

Disk space is very little for proxies

bandwidth depnds on how much advertising you are gonna do it could be anywhere from a GB a month to 100's

There is no specs that are a must. I think every hosting that allows proxy has what they need

Also domains allowed on a account varies from hsot to host. It says on hosting packages e.g. mine are from 5 domains to 100 domains depending on the package. I could give you some extra tho if needed for free

I believe the problem you are having is that those two areas are set up for 336x280.

You are using larger ones.
After the widget bucks try adding a couple of line breaks......

can anybody tell me... how can i limit bandwidth usage of visitors using my proxy..

i have done this code
'max_file_size' => 1048576,

in php proxy..

but its not limiting any user.. they are able to use 60 to 100MB bandwidth with ease..

also pls tell the code on glype (i am using 3.0 final)

5GB, that's it ?! I use more than that per day.

 

@surf4fun: whats your uniques/ day cause 5-10gb/day is pretty normal for a good proxy.

 

You can lower this limit to 1MB

this code limits the max file size that can go through your proxy - not total bandwidth per user

 

i use i think 5mb, so they can download pics and mp3s if they wish lol.
After all we target schools and work places, mp3s should be quite... wanted.

 

As you probably know i now do proxy hosting and im looking for people to advertise it around other forums e.g. you get paid almost all of the first month payment from clients you send me

e.g. $15 plan you earn$12

Also if you want to start a service to create proxys to sell them i cna give you a special deal to give your clients the first month free

I have a quad core something or other with 8GB RAM with thewird (wdservers.com) his servers are awesome. 100mbit unmetered full duplex. I highly recommend him as a reseller. At the moment i don't even check my stats for my proxies, it all just runs in the background... doesn't really interest me anymore but i still pay the server bills.

When I first started my proxies, my biggest one was doing great with around $25 eCPM with adsense on the homepage. It all makes you less enthusiastic about it when google smart prices your proxy and gives you $0.15 CPC.

Oh and on blocking, yes just block China, it's crap. I used to block iran but all they do is look at arab porn, it's not as bad a chinese traffic.

as far as advertising goes, just start up a proxy group or something similar and spam them with proxies on the web. I've set up a cron job to harvest proxies from popular sites and they send emails to the group. Then when i launch my own proxy site ( which is rare nowadays, lost much interest) I can blast it out to the group.

Other than that I haven't really advertised much. they just magically start receiving 5000+ visitors a day, it's all the Iranians posting on their blogs.

BTW, CGIproxy FTW.. it's the most compatible... so if your users can use the shit, it's worth paying for.. plus they tell their friends it works when the others can't.

 

May i know how much you guys making on google with 3000 impressions a day?

Be sure to kick any abusers as in proxy hosting, there're many.

Keep your prices reasonable and no uptime guarantee, but best possible uptime.

 

atleast DP has some good (really good) proxy hosting. Can you tell me. Having your proxy on different domain gonna help or not. Or it's ok to put all the domains in one basket (I mean in one hosting account)
