Hey Guys, this looks like the best place for some advice and help. I hope. I'm almost finished with my site easybeeper dot com. Now I need to set it up to take payments. So many choices, so confusing. I do think I know what I want though....

-On my pricing page, I will have "select buttons" under different plans that will take you a checkout page. I want this to have the checkout process hosted on my site.

-I guess that PayPal is the way to go for this? I'm guessing I'll need to hire a developer to integrate with the PP API to have it on my site.

-My uncertainty is how to get the functionality that I want. I think I may need a cart (Integrated with PayPal) to gain some of the features I want. It just seems that all of the carts I look at are for ecommerce sites and so many bells and whistles that I'll never use. I only have a handful of products, none of which require shipping or inventory. And I really just need a checkout page designed.
-I want affiliate support, but I know I can purchase that independent of a cart, like idev affiliate or something.
-I would like the ability to set up promo codes for different deals I'll be running.

    I guess my questions are....

1.) Which is the best direction? Just integrate with PayPal and purchase stand alone affiliate software. Will this give me everything i want? Or do I need a cart?

2.) If I purchase a shopping cart which one would fit best? I don't need much. (I would prefer a one time fee cart, not a monthly)

P.S. this is a subscription based product based on a monthly fee + usage charges. For now I'll have to enter the total amount manually each month for each customer, but I would like to reserve the ability to upgrade to an automated solution down the road. i.e. Our program calculates usage stats and adds that cost to the monthly recurring subscription cost and then sends it to the cart/PayPal for processing.

I'll also have a security certificate in place soon.

Thank you so much in advance for any direction.

I've been playing with cs-cart and it looks good but I just don't know the right path. I've basically boiled it down to three options. Maybe this will be easier to answer...

1.) Custom Cart with promo code functionality + Buy affiliate software
    2.) Custom cart for everything
3.) Open Source Cart altered to match my site design.

I think option 1 trumps option 2 for cost and functionality.

If option 3 is the best, which one?!
