He is not violating the TOS he is just made a favor to google, that he repeated the "Ads by Google" phrase. Google should be "happy" for that imo, not to ban.. think of it..and the space between picture and ad is enough I think, very good site, very good content and best blending.. who's the owner ? anyway congrats him!

A thread was started on this forum over 500 days ago about the very same site and the way it had blended the ads. I guess that if Google felt the site was in breach of the TOS then they would surely have banned it by now. Or would it be possible for a popular site like that to pass under the radar for so long?

I personally think that the two instances of "Ads by Google", one added voluntarily by the site owner, along with the different color does more than enough to make it clear to any visitors that they are ads. And since the adjacent images appear multiple times elsewhere and fit with the general layout I really don't see any problem. I would be more inclined to think that the site owner is more of a perfectionist rather than someone that is trying to trick visitors....but he does have a living to make too! I give the site a thumbs up.

What's more, if you look at the weekly hits that the other links on the page get (if true) you'll see that a lot of visitors do actually scroll down to narrow their search instead of getting hooked by the adsense at the top.

Notice that he only has two small half banner ads, whereas a noob would go nuts and slap ads all over the place.

Since he chose a different colour for the ads' borders, he is not really trying any deception. It will be if he used the same border colour as the rest.

Hah, that took me a while to spot. Personally I don't think Google minds purely because of the 'Ads by Google' extra header. Now, if he didn't have that / changed it to 'Reccomended Resources', ect...

I would have thought so too. He is going to get few conversions because people will be clicking without intending to.

Took me a while to find it, on the borderline of deception, as i reckon he/she will get some inadvertant clicks.

The Ads by Google alignment is a bit off as someone mentioned before. Good effort in my opion.

I think it is a very smart thing to do. He/She has clearly done their homework. In this day and age it is getting more and more difficult to get visitors to click on ads, and I feel you will see a lot more of this kind of thing to come. As long as the T&C have not been violated, I can't see a problem with this sort of thing.

am i blind or i see no TOS voilation here. he takes one half banner and doesn't touch any part of it(doesn't try to hide ads by gooogle etc). then just like some ppl writes a header - sponsors - he wrote "ads by google" . so i guess its all clean.
Of course using those images close to the ads are in gray area but i guess thats discussed before.

How so? The image has a border around it, so there's no labeling going on. Its just really good blending, which isn't against the TOS.
