I closed your page after opening it. The design is not attracting me and quite hard to read, so I just close the page.

P.S. It's just my opinion and it can look different for other people.

White, or a lighter color would be better. It is hard to read.

I changed the page from white to grey because the "ads by google" was just screaming at my eyes when it was black and I had a white background.I was trying to get it to a shade of white, so I could put some white text as well and blend. Not good huh ?Thanks everyone. What's a good way to make the Ads by Goooooogle less noticable ?

if you make the background black/grey, the ads by gooogle will be white. and if you make the background white, the ads by gooogle will be black.

try putting some images or something in the posts so it breaks up the monotony of the color scheme

Yes, the blue colours of the links were real eye burners. The white on grey text works quite well in my opinion, this effect can be achieved with your adsense ads.

Good content and nice ad placement! :)

Also, echoing what other people have said - very hard to read. Lighter colors would make it more cheery, light and fun! :)

What if I made all the text white, and left the links blue ? I would like to keep the links blue, and Ads By Goooooooogle White. If you were me, what changes would you make to get this effect and cut down on the yuck factor. Thanks everyone. http://official-xbox.blogspot.com/

    it's pretty much the same

A site dedicated completely to videogames.Especially XBOX.Here you can find news, articles, and current events pertaining to the XBOX.

and you might want to put some spaces in that. (after periods)

Well I am using the shade of grey that you suggest, I don't have grey or white on black. I was mainly asking about the colors and the way the ads match. You also say on your design site that white is making a comeback. At first people were telling me my site made their eyes hurt. That's what I want to fix.

If I were to offer you any suggestion it would be to use your eye. I am the worst artist EVER yet have figured out how to make a pretty decent website design. I do this primarily by studying website that are designed well.

Go to a website that has awesome design and just look at it. What colors does it use? Copy the color palette. Mimick (not steal) the design. Right now there are a lot of little things that need to be worked out. For example your text goes all the way over and touches the border of your column. It makes it look very amateur. Add some 10px padding there. Also, your banner is not very attractive. Study sites that have a similar layout and good design and try to make the banner like theirs. It's okay to emulate, just don't steal.
