Another restart.

The British Empire Falling?
Not a chance!!

We are now taking over the world all over again.. this time not with guns and chains, but with beer, music, djs and club culture.

Cyprus, Ibiza, Spain, Goa to name but a few..

The new British Empire is alive and well.

Also, the British account for 50% of the worlds major inventions to date. (this stat is a couple of years old)

The TV, the Telephone. Football, Golf, Rugby, Law once again to name but a few..

and I didnt know you could get the brown ale (newcastle) in the US.

 

Ahem, I would like to clarify that the television, the telephone and golf were invented by SCOTS. They also blessed the world with penicillin, tar macadam, the breach loading rifle, Halloween, the Bank of England (yes, really!) and among many other wondrous tools, treasures and tat - Dolly the sheep.

As far as invented Whisky, I believe that the Scots have MORE whisky than England has in all of its Crown Jewels.. cant remember the stats.. either way thats only the stuff the havent drunk already!

 

Well sadly I believe that the Japanese bought up a few distilleries in the 80´s but you can still go for a hauf and a hauf and a sausage curry in Glasgow and tell yourself you´ve enjoyed a bit of true Scottish local flavour.

I have spent many a happy night in Paisley, in what was then Carnegies. Plus other names since and before. I have to admit to prefering Glasgow to Edinburgh

 

Oh and we do a fine selection of Malts as well, and the Scots have the tartan army

I don't actually know anyone off hand that classes themselved as British much, seeing as we are all getting our own mini parliaments now we can call ourselved Welsh/Scottish/Irish/English, but all the money still goes down south.

The only time I hear British being mentioned on the TV is when a scot/irish/welsh person wins something at sport - then they are British apart from that we are generally quite proud of our individual countries.

 

Or when the English fans cause a riot - then they are British. I Like your avatar sji2671 - Nessie in all her glory!
