To all Americans, happy Independence Day!

What are you all cooking?

 

We had burgers and ribs with cornbread, baked beans, and potato salad. The best part was it was at my brother-in-law's house, so they did the bulk of the work.

 

Awesome! One of our neighbors had the loudest fireworks. He had to actually yell "Fire in the hole" every time he threw one particular thing on the ground. It was a war zone. I don't know why it is legal to sell those things. Poor doggies.

 

So, our neighbor across the street exploded what had to be hundreds of dollars of fireworks on the street on both Saturday night and then again last night. Last night he was setting them off for almost exactly one hour. I understand how cool professional fireworks can be. But the stuff that you light yourself is pretty pathetic. I was over that type of fireworks when I was 13 or 14; they were fun to explode as a 12-year-old, but that was about it. I have trouble understanding adults that still are fascinated with these pathetic devices. Morons, mostly.
