To make money with Adsense you need

to treat is like a business.

You dont have time to waste on crappy outdated hardware or on slow computers.

When I first used Adsense I did all my web design and web surfing with one computer. This worked well for about um say 2 months until the whole thing crashed. I didnt lose anything important, but my computer was full of spyware and was using a crappy centrino processor, which is one step above a 386 chip. Programs ran very slowly.

Now I decided to treat this like a real business. No more poor hardware.

I invested over $5,000 on a top of the line computer-2x xeon processor and 20' flat screen. And I outfitted it with the lastest wedesign software. No centrinos here!

This computer ONLY does web design, web software and uploading-NO WEBSURFING!

This computer is my workhorse and does all the building, publishing, uploading, etc. I cannot afford to have my web publishing haulted by crashes and freezes due to spyware and viruses. Even the most intensive programs run very smoothly.

For surfing I buy a $800 crappy computer. This computer is often replaced every three-six months, no kidding. Computer slows down, I toss it or sell it on ebay. I dont care if it is wasteful. I have no patience for slow computers. I dont mind replacing my 'browsing' computer every three months due to slowage. I dont store anything on those computers, just websurfing so i dont lose anything.

That way by having two computers each with differnt functions I never miss a beat and can publish dozens of websites in a week.

Yes buying a lot of computers can be expensive, but it is well worth it when you consider your increase in productivity.

 

I guess that's just how you roll...

 

i really don't see a connection here... i bet a lot of people here earn tons of adsense money using older workstations or laptops...

 

Spyware is gotten from downloading free software. Solution: don't download free software from no name sources.

Also there are tools that can speed up a computer immensely.

those computers you keep throwing away are running at the same speed they were when you first bought 'em.

your local computer shop can clean off all the viruses for $35... it's a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new computer!

where you are losing out on productivity is when it comes time to reload the software you use... that takes time to install and set up.

 

How much I make a month? Thousands. Ill leave it at that.

But I ake good money on the internet so I have no problem replacing my computers every few months. I keep the workstation for about a year. Like a Nascar driver or golfer who replaces his equipment before each tournamant. Sure you can keep resuing the old equipment but to get max performance you got to spend money and it is worth it.

Old computers may work for some people but not me.

 

My computer is about 6 years old and it runs great. All you have to do is clean your computer and mantain it. And also like skinny said don't download free software that you don't trust.

 

I know. I sometimes will use spyware cleaner, but it really isnt an issue for me though. I still sell the computers on ebay, which helps suplements my Ebay business or give the computers away to a school.

 

Yea I know what thats like dude. Whenever I have to change the oil in my car, I figure it's too much trouble so I just get a new car.

Newsflash, this just in: You can have your own dedicated server for $100.00 a month or less. Thanks for telling us what NOT to do!

 

I can buy a $5000.00 computer if I wanted, but only a moron would do so. The reason your computer crashed is because you said you had a bunch of spyware and stuff in it. Doesn't it makes sense to just buy a 40.00 anti Spyware program instead of buying an overpriced computer?

Apparently you must have been given the money you have, or you come from a rich family. Anyone who goes out and buys a new computer like it is nothing doesn't appreciate the money they have, and they don't know how to utilize it.

You DON'T need a 5000.00 computer to do work on Adsense. A old P3 is more than enough to get the job done. Give me a break. A computer that expensive is for a video editor or animation artist, not a Adsense publisher.

I'm not impressed with people who spend big money just because "they can." It just shows a lack of financial skills.

Do you have any idea how many SEO programs and marketing you could have done on your site with 5 grand?

First of all you should use Anti-Spyware/Virus Software since you are browsing the web to copy all the stuff you need to make a dozen websites per week and you never know where you end up and it wouldn't be a surprise to be infected with something but you would really have to be unfortunate to get infected with something you really can not clean out...like Smyrl...in her case or other cases of the same malware with other persons it really was necessary to buy a new computer.

Buy some Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware software you would save a lot more money, money has better ways to spend.

You make it sound your making a contribution to the DP community but your really not by telling people to buy a top notch computer and buy a new computer every couple of months just to go websurfing.
