My website http://www.freestockimages.net was recently critically hacked, and bringing it back to its old self is not an option due to time and money. :(

The site was well established, here are its main details:

Listed in main search engines since: July 2006
Daily unique visitors: avg 175 (was 250 before closure)
    Current PR: 4
    Alexa: 339,057
Highly ranked for competitive terms: "image sharing", "free stock images"
    Expires: 27-June-2007

Now Im creating a new website, and doing 301's from other sites I own which I no longer want to sub-parts of the new site which are of the same nature.

But now Im not sure what to do with the domain freestockimages.net. I have 2 choices, I can either:

    - just sell the domain for quick cash to use for my new site
    - 301 direct the domain to a new website for the traffic and links/pr value

The new site will have some similar keywords and be sort of the same nature as freestockimages.net.

Basically, I dont want to know anything else other than what you guys would do in my situuation? :)

i advise you to sell. your past experience can guide you how to do for your new site. if the hacker make your site down many times and make you loss, you are better sell it.

I wouldn't sell it if it was well established..heck no! Even if it got hacked, turn it into a big positive for yourself...Do a press release to inform people about the hacking and how you are adding new stuff..email the old list or JV's and tell them what's happening...so on and so forth

If you ever decide to go ahead and sell, I'd be interested in buying it. If you want to rebuild it, I can assist with that, too. Affordable.

Either way, you can PM me.

sell it and start fresh on a new project. Probably take more time then it is worth. I'm sure someone would more than love to take it off your hands.

Because the domain is a .net, and three words in the domain I think keeping it will have more value then selling it. I can't see that anyone would pay all that much for it given these factors (well not as much as I paid developing it).

I think i'll hold onto it for the next few months and see how things pan out.
