I must say, the site called Hacker News would also come in this list. This site has given me a good amount of backlinks and traffic since last couple of months. I got it from the list displayed in the addthis.com widget

 

Ning isn't really a social network it's hundreds plus for most membership would be hard to get.

I really enjoy using Facebook, but for me, I use it more to connect with old school buddies that I ended up losing touch with for one reason or another. Also, when doing promotional campaigns via Facebook, it is normally very costly to do ppc or banner advertising with this site due to its popularity, which is a reason why this site charges as much as it does for certain key words.

Digg, stubmleupon and delicious also good social networking site.

 

Only Facebook, Twitter and Linked in are effective.

The list is good. We have many more like mixx , posterous , tumblr ,LinkaGogo among others

 

friendster is over, it will no longer be a social networking site anymore. On May 31, it will be deleting the profiles of all the users on the site , forever and permanently

 

I also perfer to center my mind on Facebook and Twitter. The rest are simply not effective so much.
