My top problem is that I don't like all the bots trying to sell stuff on social networks. Even the marketing by the company itself can sometimes be a pain, if it's done wrong.

My top five problems with social media don't actually add up to five. But, three do come to mind.
Ads in Facebook don't target as well as I would like.
Google+1 still needs more active users.
Twitter needs follow and followback ratios to stay even. Not hard to correct but something to consider.

I do not know about Twitter and Myspace because I have not used them yet, but as far as I have used Facebook and Google+, I have no problem with them. In fact, I like Facebook applications.

I see no problem with social networking, it really helps a lot in promoting your business. Social networking sites allow users to share ideas, activities, events, and interests within their individual networks.

You have to active always on social networks for better reputation. Social networks takes time in showing some conversion. You have to work hard with a lot of patience on social network to make some profit.

    • Some sites expect members to subscribe "blind," meaning that users have little or no ability to search or preview the available profiles before they pay the subscription fee.

    • A majority of dating sites state profiles as online for months or even years since the last time the person has logged in, thereby making it seem as though there are more available members than there actually are. In addition, a site will often advertise the number of "registered members" while having only a fraction of that many active users.

Social network is a good source to engage with people socially. Due to privacy concern its better not to use social network for personal use.

For legit businesses, that is also their problem on social networking because people hate advertisements... It needs to be a REAL you to convince people, not an internet marketer.

    1. too many people tell too much about their lives we are not interested in
    2. We are encouraged to give our whole biography (the Facebook timeline is a shame)
    3. We can like stuff but we can't dislike them
    4. We can clame the brands we love but we can't declare the ones we hate.

Facebook is changing too frequently - as a marketer I sometimes find it hard to adjust to new changes. As a person also involved in SEO to a certain extent: it's not exactly clear how the pages in social networks benefit our business (their important role as part of the community is undeniable, though).

As a person I don't like the fact that too much people spend too much time showing off their awesome life, which isn't actually that good, as it looks from their social networking accounts. I was one of them a couple of years ago:) In this case I like to quote one of my favorite Someecards -
    (close enough;))
