Minstrel, if we were smart enough to buy domains in the early days we would not be here right now.

    men.com

    business.com

and others that are worth millions now

How in the hell did we miss TOPS.com

We should ban TOPS for missing that one

Now, now... there will be no banning TOPS30... remember, there are only three founding members of the Coop Rep Network: TOPS30 SEbasic and minstrel

You guys keep spelling my name wrong. Swap the O and the 0.

It's T for Tommy. 0 for double 0-7 (James Bond). P for Paymenttooslowdude. S for SEO. 3 for 3 is the magic number. And O for Oliver Hughes (some random geezer).

Let me sing it in caps: T-0-P-S-3-O*

    All together now 1, 2, 3 and T-0-P-S-3-O, T-0-P-S-3-O, T-0-P-S-3-O!

*I have to admit I spelled it wrong myself sugning up for the Co-op.

It may be an American board originally but we all know which part of the world really pulls the strings... Same counts for the DP 'board of directors' :)

Aren't you from the UK? How do you pronounce your telephone number? Don't you say like 'o seven eight three four double o five eight nine' as oppose to 'zero seven eight three four double zero five eight nine'? Not always but it's very common. I'm under te impression (and so is Google/millions of others it seems) yet I may be wrong indeed that it is zero zero seven but pronounced the British way of 'Double O Seven'.

James Bond dot com (official MGM site) and the TMed Logo seem to be on my side...

Now it's your turn to defend your statement with 'proof'/arguments. :)

After extensive research I am of the conclusion that the 15th letter of the alphabet (‘O’) is sometimes used (incorrectly) instead of the number zero. The only reason I can see for this is that of laziness, why use 2 syllables (Zero) when people will understand what you mean with one. I too may sometimes use the lazy option when relaying my phone number but that cannot be used as proof without reliable witnesses.

Technically and by English language law I am right, the fact is 9.28 million pages on the web are wrong (do you believe everything you read on the web), the fact that MGM got it wrong is of no surprise as they are a company that make their money through fiction.

To say zero as in OO7 (when read) is a contradiction in terms, no wonder you got your own username wrong :D:D.

If you were going for consistency, it "ought" to be...

But it is indeed spelled "zero zero seven" in the books, even though it's pronounced "double oh seven" for the sake of the story...

That's true -- that's why we had to start the Coop Rep Network -- people were getting confused and giving all T0PS3O's positive rep to Anthony.

As for C-3PO, there's some debate about that too but it seems it's the letter O not the digit 0:
