Touch pad and back pain

Around 2001 I got my first laptop. I still remember it was one of those refurbished IBM ThinkPads. I was so happy that, finally, I wouldn't have to use a mouse and do all the clicking and scrolling on the touch pad.

In 2005 I went into affiliate marketing full time. And around that time I started developing a rather severe back pain. Some days I was fine, other days I was almost completely incapacitated by the pain. Some days I could only concentrate on my work for about 1-2 hours and that was it.

So, I would get an occasional chiropractic treatment and, combined with a lot of rest, I was able to keep going. Up until last year I was convinced that, because of my back, I would never be able to enjoy working on the computer as I used to. Keep in mind that all that time I was using a laptop (thus using a touch pad). Late last December, out of the blue, I switched to using a mouse again (somehow hoping that maybe it would allow me to add an hour or two a day for the projects I was working on).

Holy cow!! I couldn't believe the difference that it made! Almost instantly. The back pain has significantly subsided over the last few months. I can easily work 5-6 hours a day without thinking that I need to stop because my back will be all out of whack if I don't.

That's my story. If you're too developing a persistent back pain, switch to solely using a mouse. It may help you just as it has helped me.
