Ok, I realize this site may only be a blast from the past for those who grew up in the UK/Ireland so it may be more for Lever and company:

What was your favourite toy as a kid?

Man, I could yak about all o' that stuff for hours :) OK, what about Palitoy's Merlin? Anyone else have on o' those?

Airfix Soldiers -about 2 - 3 inches high in boxes of 30 or so soldiers.

My favourites were Paras, Commandos and Afrika Korp.

I remember a lot of those toys, I even had a Big Trax when I was a kid. I hope they are able to expand that site. It was nostalgic walking down memory lane.

Two toys that I had that I would still play with today are the Millenium Falcon, and my good old Atari 2600. They haven't made a game console yet that could compete with that thing.

My fondest memories are from playing with a mechano set....the one with the screws and nuts and you bolted everything together.....they even had motors.
You could make all sorts of things then pull them all apart and make something else. A fully working Ferris wheel comes to mind :D :D

Now I play the "beat Google" game :D .......somehow it just doesn't seem the same :(

Nice one, I had forgotten all about my Flight Deck, think I only had it a few weeks before I dismantled it one step too far. You can still get a bit of retro stuff on firebox co uk, the pounds I've wasted there :)
