    How do various sites, eg designshrine, get away with claiming to own 'software' and impose license terms when they sell it if the actual script is freely available and the only 'small' changes they made could be considered a 'skin'?

    Isn't there some obligation to indicate which parts they own and which they have taken from others at no cost? [outside of the principles of open source licensing I mean]

    Is it simply a 'caveat emptor' matter that requires buyers to extend their research to make sure they are not paying for something that they could have for a fraction of the cost?
