Facebook and Twitter are very good platform. If you can do that effectively, it will give you much value. I don't know your niche. Sometimes, LinkedIn gives more benefit than those for certain niches.

I have a cleaning company and Twitter works well for our niche. We tweet useful information (cleaning tips) to our followers and occasionally tweet special offers.

I prefer Facebook as it allows youto target more specific people in niches and also reach out to a larger audience than there is on Twitter.

You can both use Twitter and Facebook for marketing. But spending time campaign I think facebook has more benefits for marketing your products. There a lot of people who prefer to use facebook that iswhy there is the big tendency that they will see your ads.

Both sites are great marketing choices. They both are able to generate business so it depends on what's your preference. Twitter is more simple in my opinion but depending on the niche Facebook could bring in more conversions.

I like both two totally different ways to target customers and get your message across. For ease of use i do prefer twitter just because i can use it on my phone and write something quick where as facebook you are constantly uploading pictures and videos.

I can't say that I've made any money from advertising on either one. I got a lot of lookey loos and that's about it.

Whether you make money will depend a great deal on your product and target audience. Do a google search and look for case studies related to your product. Social marketing seems to lend itself more towards certain age groups and the products that they purchase. Its great if you want to really spend the time developing relationships that could one day lead to sales.

Facebook has some tools that will help you design and track a campaign.

Twitter would be hard to track, trace or know that your efforts produced fruit. I used to see a lot of backlinks and referrals on my website related to twitter, not any more.

I much prefer Twitter marketing I find I get more traffic through my twitter as interaction with potential readers is much easier. Plus it seems that people can find you much easier without you having to do tons of active promotion. Being on both is a must though.

In my experience, I find that Facebook is more effective. Facebook makes it really easy to target your niche... but I still use Twitter.

If you can, then both. I think if your going to update on a daily basis choose Twitter, if more irregular then Facebook.
