Unmetered servers:- How does that work?

    Hello Friends,

Can anyone please explain how these unmetered servers work?
Where companies are offering bandwidth without any cap on it. and you can use as much as you can?
Is there any catch behind it?

Unmetered Servers are actually capped by the speed of the network port. Commonly used network cards in servers are 10mbps or 100mbps rated so the bandwidth anyone can use would be restricted to that. Of course at the same time, the bandwidth which the web host has would restrict it too. For example, if the web host only has a 100mbps pipe and shared between 20 customers and if all uses to max, each server would be limited to 5mbps.

10mbps is about 3200 gb per month if it is used to the max 24/7.

Some dedicated server sellers do specify what that means.
Indeed, an "unlimited server" is in fact limited by the network connexion: 10Mbps (3200 Gb) or 100Mbps (32000 Gb).

i know a person that gives unlimited space.
bandwidth is possible, but unlimited space! you can upload anything you wish right!
but he still gives, says he has a big infrastructure to support all this.

anyways just $5 per month, paid annually,
but then i have never tried that, so i can't say what catch he has.
    sometimes i feel, it's worth a try!
