Up-and-coming blog. Can you help me with ad placement? :)

So I started this blog (my first) a bit less than a month ago. The first few weeks were just about creating some content, but now I'm going much more marketing (i.e., posting on other blogs, submitting to search engines, using Facebook, etc.).

This week has been about Adsense placement, both in the individual posts as well as the index page. For now I'm doing a mix of complementary and blending colors as well as randomizing the top ad left or right to help prevent ad blindness.

Anyway, if you guys could look over the two pages and see what you think about color and placement of the ads (or the site in general), I would be really grateful. Sometimes a pair of fresh eyes can do wonders :)

Index page: Currently ads on top right/left (random) and on bottom of first post.

    Thanks again!

it has been my experience that above the fold, link units below the header and a half banner at the beginning of each article are the best spots.

Thanks for the reply :) By 'half banner,' do you mean the vertical 120x240 banner?
