I just when through a major revision of my two main web directory pages and my backend db. Here are the changes.

    Changes That Have Been Made

    1. French, German, Spanish are now working. See French and Spanish pages below. The directories will start to be added shortly.
    www.seocompany.ca/directory/annuaire-gratuit.html
    www.seocompany.ca/directory/webverzeichnisse-und-webkataloge.html

    2. The backend db now scrapes the IPs of all directories, compares them to see if there are other directories on the same Class-C IP and stores that number and shows them on the main pay and free pages. All directories that are on the same Class-C addresses now have there URL displayed in RED Here are the new pages!
    www.seocompany.ca/directory/free-web-directories.html
    www.seocompany.ca/directory/web-directories.html

    Changes Being Worked On

    1. Setting up the ability to add your own directory to the lists.
    2. A display page that will give all paid permanent, non-multi links, non same Class-C directories. Out of my list of 178 there is only 77 : )

Other Things I Am Doing On The Directory End Of Things

    1. I am strongly considering putting a Free Directory on my home page (currently a PR7) for SEO, Marketing, Programming, Web Hosting, Domains, Ecom, etc.

I would like to offer 6 extra quick links for services/products on this directory.

My site is getting a make over to the 3 column all CSS Skidoo Lean template with center column first sourced, fixed width center column, banners in the 3rd column and articles and supporters in the first column content in the center column.
    webhost.bridgew.edu/etribou/layouts/skidoo/lean/

I am wanting to apply a "wow" design to this new template that would use MSN or Yahoo type blocks on the home page of my main products and services. The top one would be the free directory. Like here on Yahoo (6th block down on the left column).
    www.yahoo.com/

I wouldn't mind getting some input from you my peeks and suggestions on how I can make my lists or this possibly free web directory better. PM me, MSN me (bob@bobmtuch.com), or Yahoo IM me (bobmutchseo).

Will.Spencer: Thanks! My programer Ramon is very good. He is working full time now on my directory resources and when he gets those up to par he will tacket my SEO Tools page and get that page mySQL'ed so it is easier to add up tools.
    www.seocompany.ca/tool/seo-tools.html

I am finially out of the sand box on both my tool pages. #18 for SEO Tools and #7 and #8 for Free SEO Tools on Google. I am #1 for both on Yahoo and #4 and #1 on MSN.

I also have a start on a few simple SEO tools of my own and plan on either having Ramon or another programmer build that into a full set of 20 to 40 quality good and offer them under license freely.
    www.seocompany.ca/tool/free-seo-tools.html

Now I just have to fix my cheesie website seocompany.ca and get it into a good template and have a "wow" design done.

Then new UncoverTheNet sure looks good.

Tuning: Yes Shawn is doing a wonderful job. I just pick up an editor position over there a couple of weeks ago. I would say behind DMOZ, Google, Yahoo, Business.com, bCentral, Zeal, JoeAnt, Shawn is right in there with Skaffe, WoW Directory in the top ten English directories.

    Hi Bobmutch,

How does this same Class-C IP identification works, is it two directories on same IP or something else.

    Thanks

webhost: "How does this same Class-C IP identification works, is it two directories on same IP or something else."
Yes and even more, two directories with the first 3 octets the same.

There is a perception among people that add their web sites to directories, that if that directories is on the same Class-C IP as another directory that they have their Web site in, that their inbound links will not give as much weight in the SERP ranking for keyword in the anchor text.

For this reason people that have more than one web directories make sure they are not on the same Class-C IP.

So what I have done is I have a back end script that scrapes the IP's up for all entries. As I have the same db serving records to the free directories page as the pay directories page it covers all directories in my db.

Then I have another script that compares each record IP with all other records and notes in the CC field how many other directories have the same Class-C IP.

Then when I display the directories on my pages if cc >= '1' then the font goes red.
Shortly we will have a onmouseover that will show which directories are on the same Class-C IP as another directory by mouseover'ing the CC field number.

This way if there is another directory on the same Class-C IP you have you directory on you can move or ask them to move as people would be less libel to submit there Web site to your directory if it is on the same Class-C IP that another directories is.

This also shows those that are concerned about more than just the click though traffic from directories, i.e. the ranking weight that they are getting from the inbound links from the directories, what directories are on the same Class-C IP.

NOTE: Just a note on "Class-C" networks seeing how every thing is gone classless now. When people say same Class-C network it just means that the first 3 octets are the same and the last octet is from 1 to 254. It would be more proper to say the same /24 network as the first 3 octets are the 24 bits. Really a Class-C IP is really any IP from 192.0.0.0 to 223.255.255.255 .

    Same Class-C
    24.26.32.4
    24.26.32.105

    Not the Same Class-C
    24.27.32.5
    24.26.32.106

    Not the same Class-C
    24.27.32.6
    23.27.32.107

    Hi,

    Nice work Bobmutch.

Edited: As it has been resolved!

further, I have analysed almost all directories listed on your site in the attached excel sheet. One can find what are the directories falling under same IP block.

webhost: Ok we got that all cleared up. We added up a Dutch page, cleaned up the code on the backend and setup better scripts so we can scrape the values more often, and seperated the free and require reciprocal link directories.

The programmer is working on the code for a mouseover so that you can see what other directories are on the same Class-C IP, working on a submissions forum so it will be easer to keep every thing up to date, and giving the Niche Directory and Most Links Per Web Directory pages a feed from the db.

Getting everything more automated before we bring 3 new Philippines employees on board and contract out the mining up of the French directories. I have some one that is working on the Dutch directories but still needs someone in the know for the Spanish. I have some one to do the German so thinks are looking up on the directory end.

We are putting the SEO Tools into mySQL shortly and then going to hire some one to work on reviewing and adding up tools there also. That resource as just been sitting there since Janurary as it is so time comsuming to add up a new tool. The site has #1 place on G/Y/M for Free SEO Tools and first page on the top three SE's for SEO Tools. So it's time I put some more attention on that resource.
    http://www.seocompany.ca/tool/seo-tools.html

Got a number of other things in the works also. The site is 10 months old and got out of the sandbox last Google update which took lot of the keywords we are targeting to first page on Google. That kicked our traffic up over 1000 visits a day for the last week.

I am hoping the free directory on the front page with the other resources we will be delivering will put us up over 5k visits a day by the end of the year.

CanadaianEh: Thanks! I got the start of my Free Web Directory started also on the home page of http://www.seocompany.ca/.
I will be converting the 1264 SEO Firms from DMOZ into a db and displaying them in an one-liner dispay with columns for No, Title, mouseover Info, Country, State, City, all on one page and the alphabet accoss top. The Title, Country, State, City columns will be sortable and the search bar will enable to you search on Country or State or City and display decending alphabetically from your search word.
There are a number of other categories I am looking at but I have my work cut out for me to massage the SEO firms data into a more useable form and sourcing the country, state, city for each record.
    Its going to be interesting.

    Great work BobMutch..

For sure this would be "the best" resource IMHO.

Also you are raising expectations, can you include the review and acceptance time by these directories. Mode of contact with these directory owners, like email, forum etc.. Speed or load time of the site, uptime availability of site.
